NSW:Keneally shelves electricity increases

The NSW government has backflipped on its solar bonus scheme to save electricity consumers
an average of 100 dollars next financial year.

Premier KRISTINA KENEALLY has told News Limited newspapers Labor will fund its 1.5
billion dollar solar bonus scheme until 2016 .. thereby stripping its Climate Change Fund
of money for green projects until 2020.

The policy change will spare the average electricity consumer a 100 dollar rise in
the 2011-2012 financial year .. and 50 dollars a year after that.

Ms KENEALLY will announce today that all uncommitted funds for the Climate Change Fund
.. which is paid from electricity and water bills .. will be redirected to pay for the
solar bonus scheme.
