QLD: East Timor Bishop in Brisbane to launch aid appeal

BRISBANE, Feb 23 AAP - Nobel Peace Prize winner and East Timorese spiritual leader,
Catholic Bishop Carlos Belo will visit Brisbane to launch an appeal run in churches in the
lead-up to Easter.

Bishop Belo was due to arrive in Brisbane on Saturday and launch the Caritas Australia's
Project Compassion Lenten appeal after celebrating Mass at St Stephen's Cathedral on Sunday
morning.

Caritas Australia, the international Catholic aid bureau, will receive funds collected in
Catholic Churches for aid projects during the six week Lent …
